Laurie Denomme, The Water Exercise Teacher’s Teacher, delivers science-based workouts that get results in just one session. Recognized for her innovative approach to exercise as recipient of the 2013 AEA Global Aquatic Fitness Professional Award and 2014 ATRI Tsunami Spirit Award.

She created Wavemakers® an online mentorship to help people develop skills as powerful, life-changing water exercise coaches. New and experienced fitness instructors benefit from the collective wisdom of a community that encourages everyone to reach for their best.

Laurie holds a B.A. in kinesiology from McMaster University, is an ACE and AEA-certified fitness trainer, and is a Fellow of Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute.

Her passion is empowering others to confidently create workouts that help their participants get meaningful and lasting total body results.

MY STORY

I taught my first water exercise class at 17 years young. I still remember it – my mixed tape for music, empty milk jugs for equipment and arms swinging overhead.

Whether immersed in one of my favorite workouts, listening to the sound of crashing waves at the beach or hanging out with manatees, I have a passion for being in, near or around water. Is water your happy place?

I’m curious about how the body works. It’s why a relaxing beach visit turns into an assessment of people’s walking patterns and why I’m always searching for new ways to move better. Are you curious?

After 30 years of teaching, I realized that safe and results-driven workouts could be simplified into a basic formula. MOVING IN SIX DIRECTIONS trains the body the way it moves and works in real life. I promise, this formula will change how you do water exercise – forever!
