I remember teaching my first water exercise class at 17 years young; my mixed tape for music, empty milk jugs for equipment, arms swinging overhead … students were benefiting, yet I knew something was missing.
It wasn’t until two decades later in recording of an underwater video, I experienced a big a-ha moment. I noticed how several of my students were really MOVING the water, while others were just bouncing around.
From that moment, I changed my teaching to focus not only on exercise technique but more importantly, on how each movement should feel.
2017: I replaced my instruction-only teaching with “move in your feel good range”. By helping others recognize the difference of feeling the move, I redefined myself as a water exercise coach.
2019: I created Wavemakers which quickly became the most impactful shift in my career. Our community shares ideas and success stories, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
2022: After 20 years of selling my workouts on CD and DVD, I created an exercise App for Android and iOS to help more people access Wavemaker workouts—to use any time, any place.
2024: I’m re-launching Wavemakers—coaches get more direct access to mentor coaches and community chat forum. For students, more diversity of workouts.
